Another way to get rid of stains

The things that many of us rely on to get us through the day can also leave evidence behind. Those cups of tea and coffee, that red wine, even that tobacco (as apparently there still are smokers in the UK) leave stains behind on our teeth. Over time, the stains build up and discolour the teeth.

Airflow in GlasgowOrdinary brushing doesn’t get rid of these stains and sometimes even a trip to the hygienist for a scale and polish doesn’t seem to do the job. You don’t really want to get your teeth whitened. Is there another way you can get these stains removed without having to go the whole hog of having your teeth go several shades lighter?

Yes, there is and we have it here at Dental FX in Glasgow. It’s called Airflow and it does a grand job of getting rid of stains.

Airflow is a jet of air, water and finely powdered sodium bicarbonate. Here at Dental FX, our hygienists, Michelle Britton, Teresa Cameron and Nicola McPherson, use it to great effect. They love seeing people’s face when they look at their teeth after a session with the Airflow equipment. It’s like the years have been stripped away from their teeth along with the stains.

They are back to their usual gleaming look without being made artificially lighter.

You can ask about Airflow at your next session with the hygienist or at your next check-up, or you can ring up to find out more and book a session. We usually recommend that you have any build-up of plaque removed first and the Airflow machine can do this for you.

This is a great way to spruce yourself up for an important occasion such as a wedding, or a first date.

If you have Airflow as an extra during your hygienist appointment, it will cost £20. If you have it as a full appointment, the price is £47.

There are some stains that Airflow cannot remove, so it’s a good idea to let us have a look at your staining before you book a session. If your staining won’t budge with Airflow, you can try teeth whitening, or have the discolouration covered over with veneers.
